Previously, he served as Commercial Director of ACCIONA ENERGY, Services Company which promotes, owns and operates CHP and Renewable Energies Projects; President of GEDEON S. COOP, wind turbines manufacturers; and CEO of BEPTE Consultants S.L. He hold different positions in the European Commission, the IDAE (Institute for Energy Saving and Diversification) and the Spanish Ministry for Industry and Energy.

Simon Currie, Banking & Project lawyer renewables, NortonRose

Simon Currie is a partner in the Norton Rose Energy Projects team in our London office. He focuses on the European wind and wider renewables sector and has worked on financings in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Netherland, Italy, Greece, Poland and Cyprus for onshore and offshore farms.

Eric Seem’s experience includes many years working as an engineer. He has been working for the past 8 years within Project Finance, successfully closing deals in the wind power sector, the power sector, and the infrastructure sector in Denmark, Norway, Poland, the Baltics and Russia as well as a in other countries (Cuba, Ghana, Qatar, Spain, and Iceland). HSH Nordbank’s core business includes a regional focus on North Germany, Northern Europe/Baltic Sea region as “Bank for the North” , a world leadership in ship financing & international focus on the sectors transport, corporate finance & real estate and an expanding position as supplier of complex products (structured finance & asset-backed securities in the international capital markets).

Todd Allmendinger, Managing Director, Emerging Energy Research

Mr. Allmendinger is a founding member of EER and Managing Director of EER's Consulting Services and European practice. His experience includes leading knowledge management and research services at DiamondCluster Consulting in Barcelona, working on strategic consulting assignments at Braun Consulting, and serving as Director of Research at Pyramid Research. He also spent eight years in the United States Navy. Mr. Allmendinger has a Master's degree from The American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird), and is conversational in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. He is based out of EER's Barcelona, Spain office.

Finton Whelan, Corporate Finance Manager Airtricity
Fintan Whelan has been responsible for the funding of Airtricity’s extensive Windfarm building programme since joining the company in 2000. He has driven the  development and application of new structures and funding sources during that time, particularly in the area of merchant plant. His responsibilities cover all markets in which Airtricity is active, including US, Offshore and now China. Fintan obtained a BComm degree from University College Dublin in 1978, is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Accountants and in 1996 obtained a Masters Degree in Banking & Finance from UCD’s Graduate Business School. Before joining Airtricity, Fintan was Chief Accountant and later Finance Manager with Prudential’s Irish life assurance business and worked with Ernst & Young consulting, specialising in the area of financialmanagement and modelling

Martin J.Huss, Sales & Marketing A2SEA
Martin Huss has a background of more than 11 years in the wind turbine industry of which the last 5 years he had specialized in offshore wind. Holding a masters degree in civil engineering from University of Karlsruhe / Germany, he had several positions as group manager for waste treatment systems before he entered the wind business. Martin Huss has held several positions within the Vestas Wind Systems Group i.e. Denmark, Italy, US and finally Germany where he was Project Director for Vestas Central Europe. He works for A2SEA since 2002, being responsible for all Marketing, Sales and Contracts on group level, also as a member of the Management Team and Managing Director for A2SEA´s German subsidiary.

Torben Sommer, Renewable Energy & Commercial Services Equity Analyst Standard&Poors
Torben Sommer joined Standard & Poor’s Equity Research in 2005 as an equity analyst, focusing Renewable Energy. Prior to joining Standard & Poor’s, Torben worked as an analyst for Nordea Bank and has been a lecturer in the areas of Private Equity, Entrepreneurship and Corporate Finance for BA and MBA students in Paris. Torben has over 20 years international experience in equity research, private equity, and academia from Copenhagen, London. Madrid and Paris. Torben holds a Master of Law degree from University of Aarhus Denmark specialised in Company Law and an MBA in Management Accounting from University of Paris, Dauphine.

Joined RBC in 2000, since when he has closed a number of advisory and financing transactions in the utility and renewable energy sectors. In particular, he led the RBC team involved in arranging RWE Innogy’s Beaufort and RES’s Astraeus wind farm portfolio financings. Prior to that, Patrick spent 20 years with the NatWest Group, the last 14 years as a project finance specialist, focusing primarily on the power sector, including 6 years in New York.
