Course leaders:

Jerry de Leeuw, Managing Director, Mercurious
Jerry de Leeuw has traded many years by open out-cry on the floors of various exchanges and has much experience in screen-based trading. He has traded on EOE, AEX, Euronext, Euronext Liffe, DAX-Xetra, Eurex, NYSE, Nasdaq, NYMEX, CBOT, CBOE, and many more. With APX, Jerry was responsible for the development of the continental gas markets in Belgium and The Netherlands.  After completing his study in Economics in 1995, he became a MarketMaker on the trading-floor of the European Option Exchange in Amsterdam and was employed by Curvalue on EOE, AEX and Euronext. He established his own MarketMaker company (Summer Traders BV) in 1999, was licensed under the supervisory body AFM, became a Member of Euronext Liffe, and had clearing-contracts with Fortis and Goldman Sachs.

Ekkehard Will, European Energy Exchange AG

Since 2008, Ekkehard Will is working at EEX in the Customer Relation department where he is responsible for the training and examination of exchange traders. He has a degree in banking studies and several years of experience in the settlement of domestic and foreign options, futures and OTC-products in financials and commodities. After Ekkehard completed his apprenticeship in 1990 he joined a team to set up a back-office for financial futures and option products. In 1991 he became responsible for this team. From 2000 onwards he worked for a clearing house responsible for the clearing of agricultural commodities. Afterwards he switched over to the clearing department of EEX to start clearing of energy products in 2005.

Henrik Specht, Risk Manager, Vattenfall Europe AG
Henrik Specht works for the Central Risk Management and Risk Controlling at Vattenfall Europe AG. His main tasks are the qualitative and quantitative analysis of market risk exposures in complex energy contracts and products. He is consulting different business units on efficient hedging and pricing methods and coordinates the quantitative work across the Vattenfall Group. Before joining Vattenfall, he worked as an analyst in the Bewag energy trading department and as a research associate at the Institute for Energy Economics and the Rational Use of Energy (IER), University of Stuttgart.
