Luísa Serra, Risk Manager, EDP S.A

Since 2005, Luísa Serra is a risk manager at EDP. Her areas of expertise include Market Financial Risk, Credit Risk and Operational Risk. She is also an author of several articles about Energy and Risk. She has worked for several years with energy research at IST and as a Business Manager at Alstom, Siemens and EDP.
Luísa has degree in Mechanical Engineering from Faculdade de Ciência e Tecnologia in Universidade de Coimbra. She has advanced studies in Energy and Environment from Instituto Superior Técnico da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa and an MBA in general management from Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon.

Agustín Moliner de Palacio, Deputy Risk & Finance Control Manager, Endesa

Agustín Moliner de Palacio is currently Deputy Risk & Finance Control Manager at Endesa and Secretary of the company's Risk Committee. His previous working experience includes strategic consulting (Arthur D. Little) and investment banking (Banco Santander, Morgan Stanley). He has over 10 years experience in the field of risk management and control. He is currently Chairman of Eurelectric's SG Risk Management, Director of the Club de Gestión de Riesgos, member of the ISO/TMB WG on Risk Management, the European Council on Strategic Risk Management and the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts. Agustín holds an MSc in Engineering and an MBA and is a Certified Financial Risk Manager.

Andrew Sheen, Manager Operational Risk, FSA

Andrew Sheen is the manager of the Operational Risk Policy team at the UK Financial Services Authority and was responsible for the drafting of the operational risk requirements that will apply to UK banks and investment firms. He is now working closely with industry to ensure that they have successfully implemented the EU Capital Requirements Directive and participates in the assessment of AMA waiver applications. He chairs the FSA's Operational Risk Industry Standing Group.
Andrew is also a member of the Basel Committee's Accord Implementation Operational Risk Subgroup and the Committee of European Banking Supervisors' Sub-group on Operational Risk Implementation Issues. In June 2007, Andrew was presented with the "Regulator of the Year" award by Oprisk & Compliance magazine.

Dr. Frank De Jonghe, Deloitte

Frank De Jonghe heads a team that is offering both added value support services and independent consulting in a variety of areas to financial auditors. Examples of services include valuation of financial instruments, risk measurement and management, actuarial processes and insurance ALM, IAS 39, Basel II, commodities trading, asset management, securitization etc.
Frank is Professor at the University of Gent, Belgium, for the academic years 2004-2008. He teaches a course on Risk Management and Derivative Valuation of the Master of Banking and Finance Program.

Elías Fernandez, Senior Risk Analyst, Iberdrola

Elías Fernández is a Senior Risk Analyst within the Corporate Risk Function at Iberdrola. Among other functions, he is responsible for corporate risk policies development and update, limits setting, integrated quantification of main risks and reporting to Executive Team. From his position in Corporate Risk, he has also been in charge of several internal projects for Credit and Operational Risk. He has also participated as an active member in  the Eurelectric's working team that developed an operational risk framework for the energy industry. Elías has a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, MBA from Instituto de Empresa and Excecutive Master in Financial Risk Management from Instituto BME.

Sergio Scandizzo, Head of Operational Risk section, European Investment Bank

Sergio Scandizzo is head of the Operational Risk Section at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. Prior to his position at the EIB he was a principal in the London office of PricewaterhouseCoopers and prior to that, a senior manager in the Operational Risk Group at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Toronto. He holds degrees in computer science and finance and is author of several publications on the subjects of fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms and risk management.
